Care of grafted plants

Many people use the grafting of plants to get new varieties, joining two already existing ones. It is important to remember that the graft is carried out in those plants that do not have enough strength to grow by themselves, so it is best to create a graft so that they can do it with the help of another much more resistant species.

It should be noted that when grafting , what we are doing is joining two plants through the stems and roots so that they can begin to grow as if we were using a single specimen. If we want our new plant to grow properly and develop very well, we must give it proper care. It is for this reason that today we bring you some cares that you should take into account after having performed a graft.

The first thing you should do is make sure that the graft union is adequate and that the roots and stems have been united as they should be, that is, it is important to remember that depending on the plants you are using, they will remain in one way or another. The grafted part should go to ground level and then be covered by a little organic compost.

In the same way, you will have to be very careful with watering , since not all plants need the same amount of water, so in this way the excess or the little amount of water could become a factor of great care. I recommend that you always use species that have more or less the same care so that you can achieve better development.
