Growing Fruits and Vegetables in Pots

As we have already mentioned in other previous posts, growing vegetables and fruits in our own home is something that not only brings us economic benefits, and we can save a lot of money by harvesting our own food, but it is also a quite satisfactory activity for ourselves and our family.

One of the alternatives that we have in addition to growing in the ground is to use pots and other types of containers to grow fruits and vegetables. Although it is a bit more complicated, it deserves our effort and patience since you can obtain the same results as doing it in the garden.

It is for this reason that today we will talk about some recommendations for growing fruit and vegetables in pots :

  • If we do not have enough space, or if we only have a balcony or a very small patio, we can resort to growing vegetables and fruits in pots.
  • It is important to bear in mind that fruits and vegetables may or may not resist cold, so we must be vigilant and informed about those that do not resist it to take them inside the house in case of frost or low temperatures.
  • You can use large pots, barrels split in half, or any type of container, as long as you make sure you have holes for the water to drain through.
  • You can take advantage of any place to put pots or planters, such as stairs, walls, walls, etc.
  • Remember that in the market there are some culture bags filled with a special layer for this type of planting. For example, some vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers can grow easily in these bags and do not require constant watering as can happen in pots.
