Tree Root Problems

As we have seen before, although trees offer us a million benefits, from the shade they produce to the production of food for daily consumption, they can also generate some problems that require immediate attention and care.

That is why today we bring you some problems that can be generated with the roots of trees, pay close attention, and remember that it is always better to be safe than sorry.

  • Trees should not be planted very close to houses as they can become a danger for them when the roots begin to come out and generate cracks in the pavement, in construction, in wells and even in water and electricity pipes .
  • Another reason why a tree should not be planted very close to your house is because it can produce excess shade, generating a lot of humidity inside your house, making it cold and prone to the appearance of insects such as mosquitoes and flies.

  • If you want to dry the roots of your tree once it has been felled, insert a special product that looks a lot like common salt in the holes previously made with the stump. In this way the tree absorbs it and the roots die.
  • If you want to prevent your tree’s roots from spreading dangerously, it is important that you prune the crown of your tree each year. Make sure not to prune the branches or roots. In the same way, it is important that you water the tree constantly so that the roots do not have to spread too far to search for water.
  • It is important that you take into account the tree species whose roots do not lift the pavement or cause problems: maple, melia, albizia, koelreuteria, among others.
