Planting a potted lemon tree

On many occasions, we may want to have a fruit tree at home but we do not have a large plot of land or a space in the garden. If this is your case, don’t worry, today we are going to give you some tips so that you can have a lemon tree in a pot, and you can enjoy the advantages of having a citrus tree planted in your home. The only thing you will need is to plant it in miniature and a small outdoor space.

In case you didn’t know, in the market you can find a great variety of miniature citrus trees, such as orange, mandarin, lemon trees, among many others. Today we want to focus on the latter, which can be grafted or simply conventional. If you have already acquired it grafted, you must take into account that root shoots do not grow so that they do not have more strength than the grafted shoots.

If you want to keep this citrus tree on your terrace , it is important that you plant it in a pot. First of all, you have to insert some drainage in your pot or in the container that you are going to use. Then you must use a special substrate for citrus fruits, as it will have the perfect mixture for these trees to develop better. In the same way, I recommend that you use natural compost so that the lemons that grow are organic.

Once you have the substrate you can start planting them. You have to place the lemon tree in the center of the container and you must fill it with soil, mixed with natural compost.   Then you can accompany the tree with some yellow or lilac flower primroses so that they later combine with the color of the lemons.
