Types of fruit trees for the garden

There’s nothing like growing your own food and enjoying the authentic flavor it possesses, right? But, in addition to having a garden where you can plant vegetables, it is highly recommended to also plant some trees whose fruits are exquisite, either nearby or in the garden, as they are also very ornamental.

We tell you what are the types of fruit trees for the garden .

citrus

Lemon Tree

Citrus x lemon

Citrus trees are small trees or large evergreen shrubs that reach a height of about 5m (although if they were left to grow on their own they would reach 10m, or even more). They have evergreen leaves, which means that they always remain on the plant, light or dark green depending on the species. They will grow wonderfully in neutral soils, with good drainage, and as long as they have a lot of light and humidity .

The most cultivated in Spain are lemon , orange and mandarin trees . In recent times, grapefruit and limes have begun to be seen, but these are somewhat more demanding in terms of climate, since they are more sensitive to cold and, therefore, they can only be grown in those regions where frosts are mild. .

Corylus avellana

Corylus avellana (hazelnut, with fruits still green)

Within this group we find trees, generally deciduous, originating mostly from temperate climates. They are therefore the most ideal to have in regions where frost is a frequent weather phenomenon . They will thrive in well-drained soils.

With a height of around 5 and 10 meters, the most commonly grown are: olive trees , pear trees , cherry trees , hazelnut trees , almond trees , or strawberry trees .
