Tricks to have a good, nice and cheap garden

There is nothing more rewarding than growing your own food, right? And the best part is that you don’t even have to leave the house. But, if you want to enjoy your garden even more and that it fulfills the three B, that is, that it be: good, beautiful and cheap, you are in luck.

Today, when there are only a few weeks left before the arrival of spring, I am going to give you some advice that will be useful to you whether it is the first time you are going to have your garden, or if you have been with it for some time and want to have it even better.

Nasturtium

Plants that you should not miss

Especially if you are a beginner or do not have much experience in caring for plants, there are some that are more appropriate than others. You can make yourself with already grown seedlings or sow the seeds in a seedbed and, when they have two pairs of true leaves, pass them to the ground. The most advisable are: tomato plants, lettuce, peppers and broad beans . These four have a very fast development, so much so that, for example in the case of lettuce, in just three months after sowing you can already use them to make delicious salads. Do not forget to put them in full sun and water them daily.

If your climate is humid or you are in the middle of the rainy season, get several nasturtiums. These plants are the food that molluscs prefer the most, which will not hesitate to go towards them instead of towards the little plants in your garden.

caring for the environment

It is very necessary to avoid the use of chemical products which can harm the environment . The garden will look much healthier if organic products are used, both insecticides and fertilizers. The latter, in addition to feeding the plants, also provide nutrients to the soil , making it more fertile and helping to improve the health of the garden.

We must also bear in mind that there are many insects that will be our allies, including the ladybug (top photo) or bees. To attract them you can plant flowers such as: cosmos, wild daisies, calendula and lavender. All of them are very easy to grow and maintain, and above all very grateful: just by having them in a location in full sun and giving them regular watering, they will give you an enormous amount of flowers, thus giving color to your good, pretty and cheap garden.
