sowing of tomatoes

To sow the tomato seeds you have to do the following:

  1. The first thing we must do is prepare the seedbed in early spring. As they are fast-growing plants, I recommend using a seed tray, which we will fill with universal culture substrate that contains perlite.
  2. Next, we will place a maximum of two seeds in each alveolus, a little apart from each other.
  3. Then, we will cover them with a thin layer of substrate.
  4. To finish, we will place the seed tray in another plastic tray (without holes), and fill the latter with water.

The seeds will germinate in three to seven days. We can move them to their final place as soon as they measure ten centimeters.

If we choose to buy tomato seedlings, we must put them in pots or in the garden as soon as we acquire them . These plants will develop just as well whether they are in containers or in the garden, but, yes, in both cases we must make sure that they have at least 40cm to be able to grow, and a stake .

Placing a cane as a tutor is very important, since as it grows it will need it to prevent the stems from falling or bending due to the weight of the tomatoes.
