The Deeply shining It is a palm tree that is widely used to decorate interiors, for that reason it could not be missing from this list. But let me tell you one thing: can exceed 3 meters in heightso it is not the most recommended plant to have indoors, unless the ceiling is very high. Even so, it lives very well in pots for years, where it will stay around 2 meters at most.

Its leaves are green, pinnate and also very long: about 3-4 meters in length. Being multi-celled, it tends to produce multiple logs that are about 4-5 centimeters thick.

Care

Apart from taking into account its size, it needs to be placed in a room where there is a lot, a lot of light. Indoors it needs light to grow, if it does not lose color and strength. Also, especially during the summer, it should be sprayed with fresh or distilled water, as it requires a high degree of humidity. To finish, you must keep it away from drafts.

Bamboo

There are many types of bamboo that can be in pots

There are many types of bamboo, Phyllostachys, Bambusa, Dendrocalamus, and a long etcetera. Some can exceed 20 meters in height and are therefore not suitable for indoor use, but there are other smaller ones that are ideal, such as the Fargesia rufous that rarely exceeds 2 meters, Let’s check the tessellation (1 meter) or the Multiplex Bamboo (3 meters).

Care

These plants They must be kept in areas where there is a lot of lightand always away from drafts. Also, they need to be watered often, especially during the summer.

La monstera It is a climbing plant that it can reach 20 meters in height as long as it has supportand that has large leaves which are between 20 and 90 centimeters long and 20 to 80 centimeters wide. It tolerates pruning quite well, so the size in this case should not worry us too much.

Care

It is a plant that does not need as much light as others, so it is interesting to have it in a room without windows (but there is clarity). Yes indeed: It is important that if the environment is very dry, the leaves are sprayed from time to time in order to keep them hydrated.. Of course, it must be watered every few days, except in winter when it should be watered little.

Benjamin fig tree

The Benjamin fig tree is an evergreen tree that reaches a maximum height of 15 metersbut in a pot it is rare that it exceeds 3 meters. Its leaves are simple, and are between 6 and 13 centimeters long.

Care

If you want to have it indoors you should find a place where there is a lot, a lot of natural light. Likewise, it is necessary that you give it a moderate watering, and that you plant it in a larger pot every 3 years or so.

Kentia (Howea forsteriana)

Kentia is a slow growing palm tree

La kentia It is a beautiful palm tree with a single trunk that can measure up to 15 meters in height. Its leaves are pinnate, dark green, and about 4 meters long. It is very popular indoors, as it is not as light demanding as for example the Deeply shining.

Care

Although it is a plant that can become very tall, its growth is slow, which makes it easy to grow in a pot for years. In addition, as it resists cold and frost down to -4ºC, you have the option of having it at the entrance of the house, if it is spacious. Water it about 3 times a week during the summer, less in the winterand don’t forget to plant it in a larger pot every 3-4 years.

La living room palm tree is a plant that it can reach 2 meters in height. It is often sold in pots with multiple seedlings or saplings, but it is actually a single trunk palm tree. This is very thin, about 2 centimeters thick when ripe, and is crowned by pinnate leaves approximately one meter long.

Care

So that I can be alright you need to place it in a room where there is a lot of light, but away from the windows otherwise you could suffer sunburn (due to the magnifying glass effect). Water it from time to time so that it does not dry out, and fertilize it in spring and summer with specific fertilizers for palm trees.

Water stick or Brazilian Trunk (Fragrant Dracaena)

The Fragrant Dracaena it is a bush that it can grow up to 6 meters highwith leaves up to 1 meter long. Luckily, its growth is very slow, and even more when grown in a pot, so it is an ideal plant to grow indoors as long as it has light.

Care

Although it is popularly known as palo de agua, it is a plant that, if kept in water or in pots without holes, rots quickly. The ideal is to grow it in a container with holes in its base, and with light soil that drains well (you can use the cactus they sell here! for example), or coconut fiber. Also, you should water 2 or 3 times a week in summer, except in winter when the frequency should be lower.

Strelitzia nicolai

The Strelitzia nicolai It is a plant very similar to the bird of paradise (Queen Strelitzia), but it is larger, and apart from that it does not usually produce suckers until a few years have passed. Its maximum height is 8 meterswith leaves up to 3 meters long by 1,5 meters wide. The flowers are bluish, white or lilac and have a dark blue spathe.

Care

Its growth rate is quite slow. I myself can tell you that I have one on the ground since 2016 it seems to me, and I think it only grows about 5 centimeters per year. In a pot, it grows even less, so it is very interesting to have it indoors. But it should not lack light, nor water in summer.
