There are many green plants that you can have indoors

Green is the color of life and hope. The vast majority of plants have that color, since it is the one that gives them chlorophyll, and without which they could not photosynthesize or grow, so finding the right species to have inside the house can be a task a bit complicated.

There are so many species that one of the most important things to take into account are the size they reach and of course the care they must be given to keep them well. The aralia is an evergreen shrubby plant whose scientific name is Fatsia japonica. Its leaves are large, up to 30 centimeters in diameter, palm-shaped and of a beautiful bright green color.. Its flowers appear in terminal panicles greenish-white.

Although it can reach 5 meters in height, it tolerates pruning well. Indoors you have to put it in a bright room, and water it about 2 times a week, except in winter when it will be more advisable to space the waterings.

Adam’s rib, whose scientific name is Monstera delicious, it is a climbing plant that can reach 20 meters high. Its leaves are quite large, measuring up to 90 centimeters long and up to 80 centimeters wide.

It needs light to grow, but it has to be put away from the windows. Water it about 3 times a week during the warm season of the year, and less in winter.

Ficus benjamina ‘Kinky’

The Ficus benjamina ‘Kinky is a variety of f. Benjamin which it has smaller leaves, and its bearing is also smallerwhich is why it can be much more interesting than the type species for interiors. The color of its foliage is also green, although it has lighter colored margins.

It must be kept in a room where a lot of light enters, because in this way your glass will remain evergreen. As for watering, it should be moderate.

Ivy

Ivy is a fast growing and very adaptable evergreen climbing plant, even I would say more than the golden (potos). Its scientific name is Ivy helixy has green or variegated leaves with a size of 5 to 10 centimeters depending on the variety. The flowers arise in green umbels, and these produce fruits that are black berries which are poisonous.

At home it must be placed in a room with light, and if possible in an area where it can climb. For example, it can be very beautiful if it is hooked to door or window frames. If you have a balcony that doesn’t get the sun, you can also use it as a hanging plant. Water it about 2 times a week.

Our hostas are perennial herbaceous plants that reach a height of between 6 and 50 centimeters. Its leaves are green, but the hue varies depending on the species. Its flowers are green, white, purple or pink, and in some species they are aromatic.

They resist the cold well, but since they are one of the favorites of snails, it is highly advisable to grow them indoors. There, they will be put in bright rooms, and will be watered about 2 times a week.

The hall palm, also known as camadorea or pacaya, and whose scientific name is Chamaedorea elegansIt is a palm tree with a single trunk (which is sold as if it had many, when in fact there are several different specimens that have grown together in the same pot). It grows up to 2 meters, and its leaves are pinnate.

It will be fine in a bright room, and away from drafts. It should not be placed next to the window, otherwise it will burn. Water it an average of 2 times a week in summer, and a little less in winter.

The potos is a plant that does not occupy much

Potos is the classic climbing plant in interior decoration. Its scientific name is goldenand it is a climbing plant that, although can reach 20 meters highit can be trimmed so that it does not grow so much. Its leaves are heart-shaped, green or variegated.

Like ivy, it requires some support to climb on, and to be in a bright room. Water it between 2 and 3 times a week in summer, and space the waterings in winter.

Sansevieria

There are many types of sanseviera, but we advise you to Sansevieria trifasciata. Known as St. George’s sword, lizard’s tail, mother-in-law’s tongue or snake plant, it is a rhizomatous plant that has flat and somewhat succulent leaves. Grows up to 140 centimeters tall. Its flowers appear in inflorescences and are white.

In cultivation it requires a light exposure, a substrate that drains water well (such as universal substrate mixed with perlite in equal parts), and sporadic watering.
