The Laurentian it is a shrub that has very pretty little white flowers. It is rustic and resistant, and since its leaves are evergreen, its beauty can be enjoyed throughout the year. In addition, its fruits, which ripen in summer or autumn, give off a very pleasant light aroma.

It grows to a maximum height of 4 meters, although it is not normally allowed to exceed 2 meters by pruning carried out in early spring, before it resumes growth. Adaptable, pretty and with flowers, What more could you want?

Durillo is an evergreen shrub native to the Mediterranean region whose scientific name is A little viburnum. It has a rounded shape, and its leaves are leathery, whole, of an intense green color on the upper side and lighter on the underside. Its flowers are small, 1cm in diameter, white. It must be said that they sprout from the plant during, more or less, half of the year: from winter to late spring.

It bears fruit in summer and autumn, giving rise to drupe-like fruits with an ovoid shape, metallic blue in color. They measure around 1cm in diameter, and sadly, they are not edible.

A little viburnum

Durillo is a very hard plant, as its name suggests. Being native to the Mediterranean region, it resists drought quite well. But, yes, if it is given a regular watering, once a week, it will develop better and produce more flowers. Likewise, it is also recommended to place it in full sun, but tolerates semi-shade, and protect it from intense frosts.

Due to its size, it can be grown in a pot throughout its life. For it, you have to plant it in a large potwith a diameter of at least 40cm, using a substrate with good drainage (such as universal substrate for plants mixed with 30% perlite).

Nor can we forget about compost. Although it is not essential, It is advisable to pay from spring to late summer with organic fertilizer, such as guano or worm castings.
