Before even drafting, it is important to consider the following:
- Total area available: to consider putting some plants or others. Trees such as oak or false banana need a lot of space to grow and develop properly.
- Land type: Not all plants will live well in what type of soil. For example: an azalea will suffer iron chlorosis in a calcareous soil.
- Irrigation water: Water with too high a pH could be a problem for acidophilic plants.
- Budget: Depending on the money we want (or can) spend, we will choose grown or young plants. In the first case, from the first planting moment we will see an interesting garden; but in the second case we can enjoy watching the plants grow.
- Use that you want to give the garden: If you have children, you may be interested in having a clear area where they can play.
- Time available to take care of it: A low maintenance garden is ideal for those people who do not have much time to maintain it, in addition to the low economic cost that it entails.
