Remedies to eliminate flies from humidity

We will start with the natural products that you can use so that the humidity flies not only disappear, but also stop going to your plants and/or food:

Vinegar

Vinegar has a smell that flies don’t like at all. Therefore, it is a very effective and practical sudden, so much so that there are two recipes you can prepare:

  • One is to mix water and white vinegar in equal parts.
  • And the other, in mixing three tablespoons of vinegar with two of sugar. You can also add two small tablespoons of detergent, but this must be ecological.

Both lemon peel and garlic are two excellent remedies against damp flies. You simply have to chop them and place them on the soil of the plantseither mixed or placed separately.

As they have an unpleasant smell for these insects, you will surely get them away from your crops soon.

Yellow sticky traps

these traps are covered with a sticky substance that attracts flies. The good thing about them is that they are not toxic to humans or animals (with the exception of flying insects).

And, in addition, they can be placed anywhere: greenhouses, orchards, gardens, and even inside the house, since there are traps that are even decorative, like these:

Although when they fill with flies, you have to throw them away and put new ones.

Insecticides

Sometimes there are so many flies that it may be necessary to use insecticides. But you have to know that there are some that are chemical, and others that are suitable for organic farming. Which is the best? The truth is that anyone can be of great use to us, as long as we use it well and at the right time.

From my own experience, the organic ones are more effective as preventives, or when the plague has not spread much yet; On the other hand, chemicals are recommended when we want more immediate results, that is, when we have a major pest.

As an ecological insecticide we recommend this one, which is already ready to use. It is specially designed to apply on edible plants, but it will also serve to treat ornamental plants:

And if you prefer a chemical one, this triple action (insecticide, acaricide and fungicide) is highly recommended, also in spray and ready to use.

Ultrasonic repellent

One of the safest ways to eliminate flies from humidity, as well as other pests that may be in the house such as mosquitoes or cockroaches, is with an ultrasonic repellent. Although it may take a month or so to take effect, it is a product that you just have to leave it plugged in in a room and let it act.

Being ultrasonic, emits a sound that the human ear is unable to hear, but insects find it very annoying. There are many models on the market, but we recommend this one since it will keep an area of 80 and 120 square meters protected, without you having to do anything:

Moisture flies, whose scientific name is clogmia albipunctataThey are insects that are very annoying. Nevertheless, it is common for them to come out when the plants are watered frequentlysince the earth remains moist for a while. In addition, if they are in pots and we have a plate under them, water will accumulate in it, thus contributing to the soil remaining moist.

Therefore, these insects will not hesitate to approach the plants, since they are attracted to excess water. The reason is that its larvae can only develop in moist soilwhere they feed on decomposing organic matter (such as roots that are dying as a result of excess water, for example).

Anyway, you should know that they are harmless. They rarely pose a problem for human health, only when the sanitary conditions are very poor and there are poor hygiene habits could they cause an infection. But if the facilities are kept clean, both the home and the patio, balcony, terrace and greenhouse if we have one, we will not have to worry. And if we see any flying between our plants, we will put into practice some remedy that we have mentioned before, and that’s it.

We hope it has served you.
