Self-compensating drippers

pressure-compensating drippers

Drip irrigation is the best system for watering plants, especially if you live in an area where drought is a frequent problem, as it will allow you to take advantage of more water and thus ensure that your crops grow healthily. But there are different types, and one of them is the self-compensating drip.

As it is designed to facilitate the task of irrigation for all those who sow and / or plant on sloping or sloping land, you will be able to enjoy an orchard or garden regardless of the characteristics of the plot .

What are their characteristics?

It is a very easy drip irrigation system to place in the pipes (self-compensating drip) that evens out the different pressures of the entire system. this way, it is achieved that all the drippers have the same flowregardless of its location and distance from the water reception point.

Furthermore, in the event of turbulent flows, these will remain balanced and moderate thanks to these more »modern» drips .

What advantages and disadvantages does it have?

Advantages

These are:

  • It is a sure way of knowing that all plants will receive the same amount of water, whether they are on flat or sloping ground.
  • It is very easy to install, since you only have to insert them into the holes in the self-compensating drip pipes.
  • There are different types depending on the water flow (2l / h, 4l / h, 8l / h, 30l / h, etc.).
  • Improves irrigation efficiency.
  • Is very cheap. In online stores, for example, you find packs of 10 units for 3 to 4 euros, or for 12 euros with a stake (even easier to put).

Drawbacks

There are few drawbacks. Maybe it’s that pipes can become clogged with dirtwhich can obviously make it difficult for the water to come out. But this is fixed by disassembling it and directing pressurized water inside.
