In the case of the Glamis Castle rose, this cultivar was created in 1992 in the United Kingdom by the rose grower David Austin. To do this, he carried out a cross between the Graham Thomas and Mary Rose varieties. This new modern rose is part of the group called “English Rose Collection”.

As for the shrubby forms of the Glamis Castle rose, these usually have an upright habit. It should be noted that It can reach a height of between 90 and 120 centimeters, while its width is usually between 60 and 120 centimeters. It has leathery foliage, with matte green leaves with a dark tone and medium size. The buds of this flower are usually pointed and ovoid. It arrived in the United States shortly after, between 1993 and 1994. The continent where it took the longest to be introduced is Australia, where it began to be marketed in 1996.

And the name Glamis Castle? This variety of rose is named after the manor house of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne which is located in Scotland.
