Magnolias that bloom in spring

Magnolias are one of the most beautiful flowers in the world. However, it must be borne in mind that there are different types of magnolia trees that, logically, do not have the same characteristics. Thus, on the one hand, we can find the persistent leaf magnolias, such as the magnolia Grandiflora, while on the other we find the magnolias that lose their leaves in winter and bloom in early spring.

Today at we want to talk to you about some of the varieties found in this last group. They may not smell as good as Magnolia grandiflora, but they do feature striking spring flowers. Would you like to join us to meet two beautiful varieties of deciduous magnolias?

Magnolia soulangeana

First of all, we want to talk about the magnolia soulangeana, a hybrid obtained for the first time in France, cultivated by Soulande-Bodin. There are different varieties, such as the Lennie, with tulip-shaped flowers, pink on the outside and white on the inside.

Magnolia kobus

The next magnolia that we want to present to you is the Kobus, which has a more bushy bearing and can reach three or four meters in height. The flowering of this type of plant begins earlier than that of the magnolia soulangeana, which is in early spring. Its flowers are white, smaller, and star-shaped. For its part, the petals are narrower and more open than other varieties.

In addition, we can find the pink version of the Kobus magnolia, which although it is very similar to the previous one, its petals have a more pinkish color on the outside and, as they reach maturity, they change to a lighter color. .
