To make your own kefir, the first thing you need to get are the kefir nodules. These nodules are sold in herbal shops and also in online stores . Once you have it, you will need:

  • A glass jar with an airtight seal
  • 1 liter of fresh or mineral water
  • 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, panela or fructose
  • 1/2 lemon
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 60 grams of kefir nodules
  • 2 or 3 units of nuts

Step by Step

Now that all the ingredients are on the table, you just have to put them in the glass jar, close it and shake it well so that it is well mixed . It is important not to fill it completely so that the gas can escape when the bottle is opened.

Finally, let it ferment for 2 or 3 days . After that time, it is strained with a plastic strainer (do not use an aluminum one as it could catch the flavor of it) and it will be ready to consume.

The kefir nodules must be cleaned with mineral water and kept in the refrigerator to prepare kefir whenever you want.
