The Juncea crown it is a shrubby plant up to 2 meters known as crown, tostonera, or crown of fine leaves. Its stems are green, with long internodes and very easy to crush. The leaves are deciduous, odd-pinnate, with 2 or 3 pairs of leaflets. The flowers, which sprout in spring and summer, are grouped in number from 2 to 6 and are yellow. The fruit is a legume.

It is native to the western Mediterraneanfound in the east, center and south of the Iberian Peninsula, as well as in Mallorca and Menorca.

If you want to have a copy, we recommend that you provide it with the following care:

  • Location: the Juncea crown it has to be placed outside, in an area where sunlight shines throughout the day (or much of it).
  • Earth:
    • Pot: universal growing substrate mixed with perlite in equal parts.
    • Garden: grows on stony and sandy soils.
  • Irrigation: infrequent. In summer 2 times a week, and the rest of the year once a week.
  • Subscriber: from early spring to late summer with organic fertilizers once a month. It can also be done in autumn if you live in an area without frosts or if they are weak and specific.
  • Rusticity: supports frosts down to -7ºC. If you live in a colder area, you have to protect it in a room where a lot of natural light enters.
