We are in summer and recently, in spring We were able to enjoy the flowers of the beautiful Clivia. It is a plant that arises from a bulb and that is usually used in patios or in portals. It is a plant that does not require great care but that if it is given what it needs, we can enjoy its beautiful flowers.

Our flowers of the Clivia are orange (although there is also the yellow and red variety) in the shape of a bell and that in them we can find some seeds. However, the seeds are not the most reliable method to obtain this plant, but separations of suckers are made in the bulb of the plant.

La Clivia can’t stand tall temperaturesbut neither did frost. It is good to place it in well-ventilated places, in winter it should even be located in a cool place and it must be kept at rest, watering it very few times. If we do this, in spring we will see the flowers, otherwise this may not happen.

In spring and summer a irrigation excessive, as we can cause the bulb to rot. Watering it every fifteen days is enough.

In addition, as I have already said, it is ideal for portals or patios, so the needs lighting They are scarce, since if it is put in direct sunlight, it can burn the leaves of the plant.

Our leaves they are elongated, dark green in color and have no stem, arising directly from the root.

The leaves and bulb are said to be toxic, so care must be taken that neither children nor animals put these parts of the plant into their mouths. However, it is a nice plant to have around the house.

Every three or four years it is due transplant to larger pots, as their roots need space.
