Kokedama

Do you know what a kokedama? They are plants that are very fashionable and are born from a Japanese technique that allows the specimens to live in a bag of moss without the need for a flowerpot.

The kokedama is done with inside plants And you can do it yourself with some patience and a step by step without great demands.

What you need to make a kokedama is:
• 1 small plant
Potting soil
• Soil for bonsai (akadama soil)
• Dry moss
• Moss leaves
• Pair of scissors
• Cotton thread
• Garden gloves
• 1 jug of water
The first thing you have to do is choosing a houseplant and cleaning the roots stroking it gently to remove dirt. Then you have to place the dried moss in water until it is damp.

The third step is to take a handful of already wet moss with it wrap the roots of the plant squeezing gently to remove excess water. Then you have to wrap the moss with the cotton thread until it forms a ball.

The next thing is to mix the potting soil with the bonsai soil using a little water. You can add the mud little by little until it forms a solid ball. Then you must divide the ball in two to place in the middle of both the roots previously wrapped in the moss and finally join the ball of clay again.

When the clay ball is unified, cover it with the moss leaves and, finally, place it on a plate or wrap it with threads if you want to hang it.

Do you dare to do it?
