While most plants have evolved to flower during the day, there are others who prefer to do it at night, as is the case with our protagonist. This is a shrub with small white flowers, very simple but at the same time very beautiful, that it will give us great satisfactions.

Jasmine at night, whose scientific name is Chester nighttimeis an evergreen shrub capable of reaching five meters in height. It belongs to the Solanaceae family, and is originally from Latin America. Its flowers, which give off a pleasant aromasprout in summer. And, once they have been pollinated, the fruit begins to grow, in the form of a berry, inside which are the seeds.

In gardening it is used as a potted plant, or as a garden shrub. It is usual that it is planted near the main entrance, in order to enjoy the perfume of its flowers just get home. It can also be used as bonsai, as it tolerates pruning very well, which has to be done in autumn.

Night Jasmine is a plant that does not require much maintenance, nor does it require previous experience in plant care. The only thing to keep in mind is that it must be placed in an exhibition where it receives direct sunlight. It is sensitive to frost, but it will withstand weak frosts (up to -3ºC) without problems. Anyway, if you live in a climate with cold winters, during those months you can have it indoors decorating your home, in a very bright room.

We will water it three times a week in summer and 1-2 the rest of the year, depending on the weather conditions in our area. During the summer I recommend that you spray it with Neem Oil; This way you will prevent pests from affecting it.
