When we talk about hardy outdoor plants we are going to refer to those that endure everything, that is, those that adapt to a great variety of climates, from one warm to another somewhat cooler.
Although you might think that they do not exist, the truth is that there are some that can really surprise ussince they have not only proven to be all-terrain, but also add beauty and elegance to the gardens.
Cycas rolled
The Cycas rolledbetter known as, simply, cat, is a shrub native to Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia that reaches a height of 2m. It is a slow-growing evergreen plant that can be grown in hot climates, but has also shown that weak frosts do not do much damage. In fact, it can resist without problems up to -4ºC.

The elm is a splendid deciduous tree: native from Siberia to Mexico, found also in Japan, It is the ideal plant for those medium to large gardens that urgently need a corner of shade. La clivia It is a bulbous plant native to South Africa that produces an inflorescence made up of so many orange-red flowers that it seems impossible that it could be a resistant plant. But yes, it is. Planting the bulb in autumn, we will make it bloom during spring, since it resists well temperatures down to -3ºC and drought.
Phoenix dactylifera
The date palm is a precious palm native to Southwest Asia. It is one of the few species of palm trees that produce edible fruits. It grows at a fairly rapid rate (at a rate of 20cm / year if conditions are suitable) until reaching a height of 30 meters, with a trunk thickness of 20-50cm.
It adapts well to all types of soils, and withstands the cold down to -6ºCwhich is very interesting, right?
