You leave your house and go to the garden. As you get closer, you begin to perceive a pleasant aroma of flowers. Maybe summer, roses or, who knows, maybe that smell reminds you of that exquisite flavor that vanilla has. And the best thing is that you know that this is not a dream like any other, but that it is one that has come true … or is in it. Yes, because a garden should not only stand out for its colors, but also for the aroma that some of their plants give off.

Roses
Rose bushes are wonderful smelling plants. What’s more, they bloom for a good part of the yearand do not require much care; in fact, you just have to place them in a sunny exhibition, remove the withered flowers and prune them a little, lowering their height by 5-10cm (depending on the size of the plant) towards the end of winter.
Plumeria
The Plumeria are some shrubs or small tropical trees whose flowers give off a sweet vanilla scent. They can be grown indoors, placing them in a very bright room, but if you live in a warm climate or with very weak frosts -down to -1ºC-, you should know that there is a variety, the Plumeria rubra var. acutifoliawhich can be planted without problems in the garden.
Lavender
Lavender are bushy plants that can grow up to 40cm. Its flowers appear distributed in lilac inflorescences. They give off a very pleasant aroma throughout the summer. What’s more, repels unwanted mosquitoesinsects that appear in the garden every year, especially if the temperatures are high, above 25ºC.
Jasmine
Jasmine is an ideal climbing plant for small gardens, as it does not grow more than 2m in height. Its flowers bloom in spring-summer. You can have it both in full sun and in half shade, and since it is a small plant, can be planted near other shrubs and / or flowers.
Common expenses
The common lilo, whose scientific name is Common syringeis a deciduous shrub or tree that reaches a height of 7m. It is an all-terrain plant that grows in any type of soil. Its flowers appear every spring, giving off a wonderful soap smell.
