Everything you need to know about lucky bamboo

The bamboo lucky or lucky bamboo is a plant of African origin that helps provide positive energy to the entire house and regularly attracts fortune and good luck. In recent years it has become very fashionable since it is a perfect plant to decorate different interiors and get a very interesting Feng Shui touch.

Light

Although most people think of bamboo as a houseplant that can thrive in shady areas, lucky bamboo needs a lot of light in order to grow beautiful green leaves. That is why if you want to enjoy bamboo in all its splendor, it is advisable that you place it in a bright area inside the house.

Culture

The bamboo of the luck is a plant that is usually placed in a container filled with water without any ground. However, and although popular belief thinks otherwise, bamboo needs the earth to grow and develop perfectly. If you want your lucky bamboo to grow without problems and you can enjoy some huge green leaves, you will have to transplant it and place it in a container with soil.

Irrigation

If you decide to keep the bamboo in the water, you will not have problems with watering since the roots hold perfectly in the water. If, on the other hand, you decide to grow it on land, you must be very careful not to flood it as you could seriously damage the lucky bamboo. Irrigation should be moderate and add water if the land is completely dry.

Temperarture

Lucky bamboo grows well in areas with temperatures around 20 degrees. Once acclimatized to the place, it can survive without any problem in temperatures below 20 degrees. It withstands humidity very well so it is a plant that is perfect to have it in areas of the house such as the bathroom.

Diseases

Lucky bamboo is a very resistant plant so it does not have too many problems with pests and diseases. In the event that it can suffer a waterlogging of the earth and there is little light, it can be attacked by the appearance of different types of fungi that can end up seriously damaging parts of the plant such as the stem or leaves. In the event that the leaves turn yellow it is important that you remove them before they can spread to the rest of the plant. If, on the other hand, the stem becomes too soft or turns brown, it may mean that it is rotting, so it is essential that you change it and add clean water. Cut off the part of the stem that is damaged and save the other part of the plant.

As you have seen, lucky bamboo is a very easy plant to grow and does not require too much care. It is an indoor plant that will help you achieve a very particular decoration throughout the house and that according to tradition attracts good luck. Remember that you can grow it in a container with water or that, on the contrary, you can transplant it into a pot with soil and enjoy a greater development of it. What is clear is that it is a fairly popular plant and that it is ideal for decorating the house with a style as appreciated as Feng Shui.
