First of all you have to know that in the same pot, there are usually about twenty specimens. Why? Because a leafy pot is easier to sell than a single seedling of a few centimeters. But actually, this plant is uniquethat is to say, of a single trunk. Its origin is in Central America, where it lives under the shade of trees.

It can reach a height of two or three meters, but in a pot it does not exceed two. Can be potted all his lifeas it does not have an “aggressive” root system. It has a very thin ringed trunk, about three centimeters thick at most; and some compound, pinnate, dark green leaves.

Its inflorescence (that is to say, set of flowers) is composed of female flowers which have a yellowish color, or of male flowers. It’s a plant dioecious (i.e. there are male feet and female feet).

The seeds are very small, oval, less than a centimeter long.

It does not resist frost. But it will hold up well to three or four degrees below zero if they last a short time, and if it is somewhat sheltered.

Indoors it is advisable to have it in a place with a lot of light, without direct sun since it can burn. It will be watered when the land feels dry.

The Hall Palm is not a plant to which you have to transplant often. When we acquire it we can put it in a pot about two square centimeters wider, and it is likely that it will last a long time.
