The Soil components They are the ones who are in charge of feeding all the life that forms part of the plant world and it is that each of the parts of the soil, turn out to be fundamental so that the adequate plant developmentso it is essential that all these parts are in good condition for the plants to survive.
The composition of each of the soil components changes in order to make different kinds of soil. For example, soil that is classified as clayey, has a greater amount of water than soils considered light and / or sandy.
These are the main components of the soil
The soil has 4 essential components, which are:
Rocks, also known as minerals.
The organic material, that is, leaves and decomposing animals.
There is also a 5th component of Soilwhich is generally not taken much into account and is about the living world that exists on earth and is that each of the existing floorshas a combination of these 5 basic components and most soils can be modified in order to optimize their composition, to achieve that the soil components are much more appropriate for the optimal development of plant life.
Air and water
Air is not neither liquid nor solidbut it is a mixture of gaseous elements that are found naturally within the earth’s atmosphere and it is that in the ground, the air pockets are those that are responsible for allowing water to move around it and that it passes between plants that are flowering both above and below the ground line. Usually the water in the ground has a certain content of dissolved salts and some other chemical elements.
In addition, as you may already know, it is a fundamental part of the soil, since the plants could not survive without a good supply of water.
Some types of soilsfor example, clayey ones, tend to retain water in a better way than other soils and it is that when the water remains on the ground instead of being able to pass through it in a simple way, the soil tends to become much thicker and certain plants do not have the ability to flourish in heavy, very wet clay soils.
Each of the soils that exist are composed of silt, sand and clayHowever, certain types of soil have a much higher concentration of these minerals compared to others.
Generally, minerals and rocks make up most of the components ground. These rocks and minerals usually come from both inorganic and inert materials.
The sand lies made up of minimal pieces of quartz and some other minerals and by itself it does not have the sufficient content of nutrients that plants require. Sand is considered the largest and thickest particle of the soil, however, water has the particularity of being able to pass through it much more easily than in other types of soil.
For its part, the slime consists of a mixture of quartz rocks and various other minerals. Silt particles found in the soil are much smaller than sand particlesalthough it is larger than the clay ones.
Clay is considered as one of the types of soil where the highest content of minerals and nutrients is found, such as: iron, calcium and potassium. The smaller particles found in the soil come from clay, which in certain cases could become quite thick and very difficult to handle.
