Multiplication

To get new cornflower specimens we can sow your seeds throughout the spring following this step by step:

  1. The first thing we will do is choose the seedbed. As such we can use flowerpots, milk containers, glasses of yogurt, … whatever we find to be waterproof. In the case of using product containers, we have to clean them well with water and make a hole for the water to drain.
  2. Next, we fill it with universal growing substrate for plants, or for seedlings, and water.
  3. Then we spread the seeds on the surface and cover them with a thin layer of substrate. It is advisable not to put many in the same seedbed, since it is likely that all or the vast majority will germinate and if they are close together they will not grow well. To give us an idea of how many can fit, say that no more than three should be put in a 10,5cm diameter pot.
  4. Afterwards, we water again, this time with a sprayer, and we place the seedbed in a sunny position.

Keeping the substrate moist (but not waterlogged) the seeds will germinate after 7-10 days.

Rusticity

It does not support cold or frost.
